VISITOR INFO

  • Teachers and organizers are encouraged to prepare their students by discussing the basics of agriculture and what to expect during the visit.

Students should bring bagged lunches and be ready to participate in hands-on farm tasks. This includes but is not limited to wearing appropriate clothing for the weather.

We also ask that educators work with our team to align the trip’s focus with their classroom goals. Please be sure to share any learning objectives that you may have with our team before your visit.

  • We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel your scheduled field trip, please submit your cancellation request as soon as possible so we can adjust our planning.

If you wish to reschedule, you can easily do so through our Calendly link.

We encourage you to select a new date that works for your group, and we’ll work to accommodate your needs.

  • For public schools, please ensure that travel trackers and any required permissions are completed at least one month in advance to facilitate smooth planning.

Additionally, larger groups ( 60 students + ) may require extra volunteers to help manage the rotations and ensure a safe, productive experience for all participants.

If anyone in your group has specific accessibility needs, dietary restrictions, or other considerations that would help us make your visit more comfortable and enjoyable, please let us know in advance. We’re committed to providing a safe and welcoming experience for everyone.

Field trips are available on select weekdays throughout the year.

  • Trips run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (3 hours).

  • We can accommodate up to 80 students per visit.

  • Larger groups are divided into smaller, manageable rotations.

  • Small groups are always welcome.

  • Student safety and supervision are our top priorities!

At New Roots Community Farm, student safety, supervision, and meaningful engagement are at the heart of every visit 🌱
