Position Overview
The Farm Market Sales Associate is a core operations role responsible for consistent execution of the Farm Market during weekend sales shifts and supporting the systems that keep the market running smoothly.
This role covers:
Saturday + Sunday: front-of-house market operations and sales
Monday: cleaning, inventory, and operational reset + biweekly aggregation route
The Farm Market is entering its fourth year with established systems and Standard Operating Procedures in place. This role is responsible for executing those systems consistently and contributing to their improvement through day-to-day use.
This position also supports regional product movement through a biweekly aggregation and delivery route to Lewisburg, WV.
Success in this role means the market is clean, well-stocked, organized, and operating smoothly— supporting both strong sales and a high-quality customer experience, while staying connected to the energy of a busy, community-centered local food space.
The Farm Market Sales Associate reports to the Farm Market Manager.

Position Overview: The New Roots Summer High School Internship at New Roots is an 8-week, hands-on learning experience for high school students interested in sustainable agriculture, food systems, and community impact. Interns will work closely with farm staff to support daily production while gaining practical skills in farming, teamwork, and professional development.
This internship is designed to build real-world experience, leadership skills, and career readiness. In addition to farm work, interns will complete a self-directed project and participate in structured mentorship and resume-building workshops.
Program Dates: June 9 – August 6
Schedule: Tuesday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (24 hours/week)Primary Responsibilities
Assist with daily farm operations, including harvesting, cultivating, direct seeding, transplanting, and crop maintenance
Wash and pack produce according to wholesale and retail market specifications
Create market-ready flower bouquets
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe farm workspace
Work collaboratively with staff and fellow interns to complete assigned tasks
Develop and complete a self-directed project related to agriculture, food justice, marketing, research, or another approved topic
Participate in career mentorship sessions, resume writing workshops, and professional development activities
Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude in an outdoor work environment
Compensation
$12/hour
$100 workwear stipend
