WHO WE ARE

COMMUNITY GROWN
COLLECTIVELY OWNED

New Roots Community Farm is a nonprofit farm and year-round farmers market based on 82 acres in Fayetteville, West Virginia. Through our production farm, brick-and-mortar market, community and educational programs, and Farm-to-School partnerships, we work to strengthen the local food system— making it more connected, collaborative, and accessible for the people who grow, sell, and eat food here.

Growing FRESH Food
for Our Community

Our farm

Our farm is a year-round, 6-acre diversified vegetable production operation that demonstrates growing techniques and tools suited to Central Appalachian farm enterprises. What we grow supports our Farm Market, fuels our educational programs, serves local businesses, and provides fresh food for the Fayette County school system, ensuring healthy, local produce reaches neighbors of all ages while modeling regenerative farming practices.

FARM Market

Our Farm Market brings together food from farms and producers across our region in one year-round space. We offer fresh produce, meat, dairy, flowers, pantry staples and more while supporting food access programs like SNAP, WIC, and Senior Vouchers— making local food more accessible and creating reliable markets for farmers. Plus, our Market Match program doubles voucher dollars spent on fresh fruits and vegetables!

Our programs offer practical, hands-on learning for people of all ages—from sustainable farming and land stewardship to seasonal food education. Through workshops, farm experiences, community events, and Farm-to-School partnerships, we connect students, families, and educators to fresh food and the land. Whether in the field or the classroom, participants build confidence, deepen their understanding of where food comes from, and strengthen our local food system.
